Get to Know Jamie

How did you start your career in education?

I chose to become an educator because I wanted to work in a field where I could support the growth and development of others and contribute meaningfully to students and communities. I began my career as a bilingual kindergarten teacher and, throughout my career, worked across a variety of grade levels and educational models within K–12 education. Over time, I felt drawn to expanding my impact beyond the classroom, which led me into school leadership and school formation work focused on building strong programs, systems, and teams. My favorite part of being an educator and leader is building trusting relationships as the essential foundation for learning and growth.

What brought you to HWL?

I was drawn to HWL because it is an organization with a strong, mission-driven culture rooted in values that deeply resonate with me, including a commitment to putting others first, pursuing growth, and leading with wisdom. Those values align closely with how I approach my work and leadership. I am also deeply motivated by the opportunity to help build and shape the education vertical, supporting innovation informed by a strong understanding of K–12 systems and workforce strategy.

What are your priorities and goals for the future of HWL?

My priority is to build innovative, responsive education solutions that support school systems. I am also committed to being an engaged collaborator across teams and contributing positively to HWL's growth and culture as the organization expands its impact in education.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors and spending time with family and friends. I love hiking, going to the beach, and practicing yoga and Pilates. I also enjoy reading and baking as ways to slow down and relax.

HWL extends a warm welcome to Jamie! Her deep experience in K–12 education and passion for building strong systems and teams will be invaluable as we continue to grow and expand our education vertical. We look forward to working with her to support school systems, drive innovation, and make a positive impact on students and communities across the education industry.
